Silver Bowl!
Several days ago Captain Levin Shavers aboard the M/V Seatrepid, and his crew of Jimmy Parker and John Brandon, made the discovery of a small silver bowl in an excellent state of preservation most likely due to the depth of the sand overburden from which it was recovered, at approximately 8ft. Recovered by diver/investor Jimmy Parker it represents his first significant treasure discovery since working with Dan Porter and his team for several years. John Brandon has been condu

Gold Rosary Remnants
Captain Levin Shavers (Pictured), who is running Dan Porter's salvage vessel the M/V Seatrepid, and his crew made a discovery at Corrigan's wreck a few days ago of several remnant pieces of a gold rosary. The area was first excavated by Mel Fisher and his crew in the late 1960's. They found several pieces of a rosary and a few gold coins. In the early 1980's Captain John Brandon was able to relocate the area where Mel made his discoveries, after considerable effort, and recov

Gold Nuggets!
Andreas Kerner working aboard the M/V Hitting Bottom made several interesting discoveries about two weeks ago. At the 1715 fleet Rio Mar wreck he has been recovering some small gold nuggets and flakes. This gold was being shipped back to Spain in its raw form. In 1969 when Mel Fisher and his Treasure Salvors group first excavated this wreck site they discovered fairly significant amounts of raw gold dust and nuggets. Once this gold was uncovered through excavations Mel let hi

Another Significant Discovery Made!
Several days ago Captain Eric Schmitt and the crew of the M/V Arrr Booty made a significant discovery of gold and silver items at the Douglas Beach wreck site. The recoveries included a beautiful Lima 8 Escudo dated (1)708, seven 8 reale silver coins, several small silver coins and 2 low carat and 2 high carat gold rings. Not only are the finds excellent on their own, but hopefully their recovery location will add to our knowledge of the break up and scatter of the highly dis

Sea Reaper Strikes Silver
A few days ago aboard Dan Porter's salvage vessel the M/V Sea Reaper, captained by Mel Fisher's grandson Josh Abt, 26 year old Australian diver and crew member Ms. Matilda "Tilly" Lowe recovered her first Spanish silver coin, a nice 8 reale. She made the discovery while herself and the crew of the Sea Reaper were carrying out methodical excavations at the 1715 fleet site known as Corrigan's Wreck. Congratulations to Tilly, Josh and the crew of the Sea Reaper. #JoshFisherAbt #

Gold Nugget!
Several days ago while doing methodical metal detector surveys of the 1715 fleet wreck site known as the Rio Mar Wreck, 1715 Fleet-Queens Jewels subcontractor Andreas Kerner, working from the M/V Hitting Bottom, found this 6.5 gram raw gold nugget. (Roughly the weight of a two escudo gold coin) When the Rio Mar Wreck was first excavated in 1969, Mel Fisher had his teenage sons Dirk and Kim recover gold dust and nuggets using a turkey baster. Several pounds were recovered by t

Significant Discovery!
Two days ago Captain Dan Porter and the crew of the M/V Capitana made a significant find in the near shore waters of Corrigan’s wreck while carrying out methodical excavations. Long time historical shipwreck salvor Kenton Dickerson recovered a beautiful small gold frame with what appears to be a religious design etched in to the object. When this item undergoes conservation and cleaning it will be interesting to determine exactly what might be revealed. Congratulations Dan, K
